Strider is the brand that invented the balance bike (no pedals) for kids. At GCROSS we sell it, explain it, and use it as the real first step before joining the academy.
Anatomy of a Strider
It's not a bike with training wheels, and it's not a bike that "had its pedals removed". It's designed from the ground up so a child learns balance first, before pedaling.

Step zero before the academy
It's no coincidence we sell it: the balance a child gains on a Strider is exactly what we ask for in Minicross, our first real level.
What parents ask
Is it the same as a bike with training wheels?
No. Training wheels teach a child to pedal without falling, but not to balance — that lesson comes later, all at once, the moment the wheels come off. A Strider does the opposite: balance first, no pedals, so by the time the child moves to a real bike they already know how to balance on their own.
From what age can I get one?
The 12" models (Sport and Pro) are built for 18 months and up. The 14X is for bigger kids, ages 3 to 7, who already have their balance down and want more speed.
Can it turn into a pedal bike?
The Strider 14X can, with the pedal conversion kit (we sell it bundled or separately). The 12" models are balance-only.
Are you an official dealer?
Yes, GCROSS is an authorized Strider dealer in the Dominican Republic — same as Kali and EVS for helmets and pads.
What's the warranty?
Bikes have a one-year warranty. It doesn't cover components or accessories, unless there's a factory defect.
What happens when my child outgrows it?
We don't take the used bike as a trade-in: you buy the new one. While your child adjusts, we recommend splitting time half and half between the old and the new bike. If you bought the bike from us, we'll help you sell it.
